Routine

Mogi Adventures 2.0

It was another Saturday in paradise for me and my Amigos to go for our first hike of the year.

It always feels strange to go hiking after the festive season; we feel a bit perky, mentally, and physically not ready. However, it is always a great way to get back into the swing of things. I always forget something on my first day of hiking in the new year. This year was no different, but  I will not disclose what it was. LOL

Some things become a norm when you have a consistent hobby. In my case, catching a lift with one of my Amigos for awesome company and because I hate driving. LOL. The other norm is our coffee spot where we stop to buy good coffee on our way to the hike. Let me tell you, the day started weird. We got to our coffee spot, the coffee machine was broken, so no coffee. When I say I was not impressed, trust me it was bad.   We proceeded to drive and thought we would find another spot with good coffee, the story didn’t end well. We got to the hiking spot without coffee. We took it like pros and forgot about it and started our hike.

This was my second time at Mogi Adventures but first for my Amigos. I must say they were impressed at how beautiful the place was. I scored some points with them for sure. However I must say the entrance to the place does not do justice to the place. It looks abandoned and signage is not clear, if you’ve never been there you would turn around at the entrance and drive away. So I guess the owners should do something about that. Once you enter the place you forget all about the not so welcoming entrance.

Last time I was here it was during August, winter in SA, it was dry, and dusty. We literally ate dust from the bikers . The bikers use same route as hikers for about 3KM. This time it was during summer, after summer rains. It was lush and green, smelled fresh, it was different and stunning.

Happy is….☺️
This view never gets old 😀

This time around we did 8km where as my first time we did 10km. I am glad we did 8km because we used different route after 5km. I got to see the other side of the property, I enjoyed that a lot. The trail is easy to moderate, some parts of the trail are tough. Besides hiking trails and dirt bikes adventures; they offer corporate adventures; picnics, etc. as usual the entrance fee doesn’t break the bank, less than R100. There’s beautiful Estate within the property; hoses built along the river and surrounded by mountains, it’s gorgeous.

Well my fabtastic people, took long to blog my first one for the year but here we are. ….
